Poster Contest

Marketing is everything when planning an event!

Where does Crooms AoIT recruit for this service? Hiring for marketing services is very costly,  but why go outside of our school when we are very fortunate to have talented students who have design talents and have earned industry certifications in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. We felt that we could use TechFest to showcase their talent; as well as, give them an authentic project on which they could apply their skills.  Hence, the TechFest Poster Contest was created.

This year students that entered the contest were from Digital Imaging 1, which is a dual enrollment class with Seminole State College and Crooms AoIT. Each student created his or her own individual TechFest poster for this year’s contest.

Certain guidelines needed to be followed. For example, the Crooms Academy logo and the SCPS logo had to be placed on the poster along with the slogan “The Future of IT; The Students of Tomorrow” Although the slogan stays the same each year, every student has a unique take on the TechFest event so the posters for each year’s TechFest have been very different. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the poster contest each year with their own creative ideas and partner with the TechFest team.

The winner of the poster contest is honored by having his personal design as the cover of this year’s TechFest program. The student receives a $75 gift certificate and an invitation to the sponsors’ luncheon to be recognized for his work.
